On April 22th, I learned that the UK government passed the law which allowed shools to ban Muslim wearing veils at class.
It is often said that the US is "the melting pot" or "the salad bowl". However, the UK has same situation.
In the UK, the Chuch of England has been acknowledged as national religion. Indeed, non-chuchgoers was not given the right to hold public office until 1829. However, Sikh, Hindu and Muslim have been rapidly growing today, mainly because of high birthrates. Muslim is the most largest among them. Of course, whoever has any other religion, kids go to school to know not only subjects but also common sense.
I thought that English teachers are worry about obstruction and discrimination among children because of the religional symbols such as veils. Probably, they want Muslims' children to go to different school: only Muslims' school. They may want to get rid of thier worries conveniently.
How about in Japan? Will it be same situation for minolity people who believe in different God?
I don't think so. Because Japanese people had been accepted any different religions. I think that not fixing the religion as national religion is one of reasons for that. There are few people who criticize about them rashly.
So, I hope that Japanese schools approve Muslims even if thay comes japan, live in Japan and go to Japanese school with wearing veils. It is the right of nonaggression among modern society, I think.
